Residents of Pleasant Hill -The Board of Public Affairs would appreciate your cooperation in preventing Village Sanitary Sewers from clogging in the future by not flushing disposable towels, sanitary napkins, tampons, baby diapers/wipes, adult diapers/liners, clothing, toys or any other large items into the sanitary system. Please discuss with all members and guest of your household what is NOT allowed to be flushed.

When items cannot pass through lift station grinder pumps, they will ultimately cause a clog and/or malfunction requiring the additional expense of pumping out the station and repairing the pumps.  This situation occurred on April 2 (the 3rd time in 4 years) with what appeared to be a dish towel, parts of some clothing and other items that could not be processed by the pumps, thus causing both pumps to malfunction. The Village crew was able to respond to the situation in a timely manner saving the pumps from total failure.  Had they not, the cost of replacement pumps run well over $5000 each!
